On June 5, agency INB100 announced that Xiumin’s appearance at the “ASIA CULTURE FESTIVAL 2026” has been put on hold.
According to INB100, the event organizer signed a contract on April 27, 2026, with a third-party company, not INB100, for Xiumin’s booking. In the contract, the company falsely identified itself as Xiumin’s agency, deceiving the organizer into believing it held an exclusive management contract with the artist.
Following verification by the Japanese event organizer, it was discovered that the company was not Xiumin’s actual agency and had falsely claimed authority. It was also found that the company had merely lent its bank account to facilitate commission payments to another intermediary.
As a result, Xiumin’s side determined the matter to be a clear case of fraudulent conduct and immediately canceled the contract with the company.
Below is the full statement from INB100:
Hello, this is INB100.
First, we would like to sincerely apologize to the many fans and industry personnel who have been looking forward to Xiumin’s performance at the “ASIA CULTURE FESTIVAL 2026.”
Recently, inappropriate circumstances were discovered during the contracting process related to Xiumin’s appearance at the event. After discussions between our company and the event organizer, it was decided to put Xiumin’s appearance on hold. We would like to clarify the facts and our position as follows:
1. False Agency Impersonation and Fraudulent Contract Activity
To book Xiumin for the event, the organizer signed a contract on April 27, 2026, with a company other than our agency. In the contract, the company falsely described itself as “Xiumin’s agency,” misleading the organizer into believing it had an exclusive contract with the artist.
Following confirmation by the Japanese event organizer, it was determined that the company was not Xiumin’s actual agency and had falsely claimed authority. It was also discovered that the company merely lent its bank account for the purpose of allowing another intermediary to receive commission fees.
2. Contract Cancellation by the Event Organizer and Cancellation of Appearance
After becoming aware of these facts, the event organizer determined the actions to be clearly fraudulent and immediately canceled the contract with the company.
As a result, it is with great regret that Xiumin’s participation in the “ASIA CULTURE FESTIVAL 2026” has ultimately become impossible.
3. Neither the Artist nor the Event Organizer Is Responsible
We would like to make it clear that Xiumin himself bears no responsibility whatsoever in this matter.
The event organizer is also a victim acting in good faith, as it genuinely believed the contract with the company was legitimate and had been diligently preparing for the event.
Therefore, we sincerely ask the public to refrain from making unfounded assumptions or spreading misinformation about either the organizer or the artist.
4. Strong Legal Action Against Those Involved in the Fraud
INB100 views this incident, which infringed upon the rights of our artist and caused confusion among fans, as a very serious criminal act.
We are currently conducting a thorough investigation through our legal representatives and will pursue strong legal action without leniency against all individuals involved in the fraudulent activities.
Once again, we deeply apologize to the fans who had been eagerly anticipating Xiumin’s appearance and for the disappointment and concern this situation has caused.
We will do our utmost to protect our artists and prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
Thank you.
