[Nate] ALLEGATIONS OF NEWJEANS HANNI'S VISA INFORMATION LEAK... ADOR FILES CRIMINAL COMPLAINT AGAINST THEIR EMPLOYEE

ADOR, the agency representing the group NewJeans, has been criminally reported for allegedly leaking personal information regarding the visa status of member Hanni, an Australian national.

On the morning of the 28th, pop culture critic Kim Sungsoo held a press conference in front of the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul and announced that he had filed a complaint against ADOR and its employees for violating the Personal Information Protection Act.

Kim alleged that ADOR employees responsible for handling matters related to Hanni's residency status had leaked personal information, acquired during the course of their duties, to outside parties.

According to the complaint, ADOR acquired and processed information regarding Hanni’s management and residency status (such as visa type, expiration date, the status of extension application documents, and signature details) during the course of managing her stay. Kim alleged that this information was leaked to the public through media reports citing "multiple music industry sources" between December 2023 and February 2024.

Kim emphasized that details reported last year, such as the expiration date of Hanni’s domestic visa and the progress of her extension application, were not matters easily known to anyone other than immigration authorities, the artist herself, and the agency handling the administrative work. He urged investigative agencies to identify the individual within ADOR who leaked the information and to uncover the circumstances under which it was conveyed to third parties, such as the media.

Kim also submitted a statement released by the parents of the NewJeans members on February 12 of last year as evidence. At the time, the parents had raised concerns regarding the infringement of personal information and rights, noting that approximately 70 speculative articles discussing details like visa types and expiration dates had been published over a two-day period.

At the time, some media outlets reported that ADOR had prepared all the necessary documents to extend Hanni's visa and intended to file the application, but that Hanni reportedly refused to sign them. They also noted that if Hanni were to leave ADOR, she would no longer have an agency to sponsor her, thereby failing to meet the eligibility requirements for an E-6 (Entertainment) visa and potentially becoming an illegal resident.

The police plan to verify the facts based on the details of the complaint and proceed with the relevant investigation.

Why are they like that towards Hanni? They can't write an article at all

The stock price has tanked, and they’ve been hit with a formal complaint, great news

It states that a person named Kim Sungsoo filed a complaint against ADOR based on his own speculation

Isn't NewJeans beyond recovery? HYBE is likely just blocking them from moving to another company; I doubt they actually believe the group can bounce back. Whether it was their own fault or not, there has never been a group that fell from the top and managed to return to the summit

What is that all about? What’s the point of filing a complaint? Are they just an attention seeker? Tsk tsk. All this does is tarnish the idol's image
