"I'm wondering if I can eat this for the rest of my life"

On that day, Han Gain created a video in which she prepared and tasted the top five most-viewed tteokbokki recipes on YouTube to compare them.

The first dish presented was Ryu Sooyoung’s “Lifetime Tteokbokki.” Before tasting it, Han Gain said, “I don’t know Ryu Sooyoung at all. I’m the type who can’t say something tastes good if it doesn’t,” hinting at her candid evaluation.

After actually tasting the dish, Han Gain commented, “The texture of the rice cakes and how well the sauce has soaked in are fine, but the overall flavor isn’t well-balanced. The salty, sweet, and spicy flavors don’t blend well,” and added, “It’s a bit lacking in polish and feels a bit off.” She continued, “It’s neither particularly good nor bad,” and candidly remarked, “I doubt I could eat this recipe for the rest of my life.”

After the video was released, reactions from netizens were mixed. Some netizens expressed disappointment, saying, “Did she really have to be that harsh?” and “It’s rude to publicly compare and criticize a celebrity’s recipe.”

On the other hand, other netizens spoke up in her defense, saying, “Her honesty actually makes her more trustworthy,” and “I think she gave a more objective evaluation precisely because they aren’t friends.”
