[theqoo] WAYNE ROONEY: THE WORLDCUP HALFTIME SHOW WAS CRAP

Wayne Rooney kept it short but not so sweet.

The Manchester United legend wasn't at all dazzled when watching the World Cup final's first-ever halftime show that featured Madonna, Justin Bieber, Shakira, Ted Lasso and The Muppets.

In fact, he thought "it was crap."

While working with the BBC Sport crew, Rooney was asked his favorite moment of the halftime show as the game between Argentina and Spain remained scoreless.

He was quick to say, "I'll be honest, when it finished."

"I like a lot of them artists, but I thought it was crap."

His response left his panelists speechless. Gabby Logan, Micah Richards and Joe Hart all struggled to come up with a response.

"I did, honestly," Rooney doubled down.

"It just didn't get me going," he went on. "I like Bieber. I like Shakira. It was too flat."

original post: here

1. He's right

2. They did the halftime show for 30 minutes???

3. Honestly he's right. They freaking ruined this

4. For real, it did not suit a soccer competition

5. This is true... Honestly, I was freaking annoyed. It's like they did this while completely ignoring what soccer is

6. He's right though

7. It has nothing to do with whether you like these artists or not

8. It felt money hungry. So quintessentially American that it really felt like a World Cup held in the US

9. I freaking hated it. What were they doing?

10. For real, the athletes didn't even have time to cool off
