YouTuber Park Wi has remained silent for more than 3 weeks following a series of controversies, while his wife, Song Jieun, has appeared on television. Despite her tearful testimony about her faith, some netizens remained cold toward her.

The episode featured Jin Seong-ae, a deaconess who shared the heartbreaking story of losing her 17-year-old eldest son. As Song Jieun listened to her story, she also broke down in tears and expressed deep sympathy.

“It must have been so difficult to put those feelings into words, so I’m grateful that you shared your life with so many people,” Song Jieun said. “Don’t we often call children ‘angels’? It feels as though an angel came to visit this family.”

However, because the controversy surrounding her husband, Park Wi, has yet to die down, some netizens responded sharply to Song Jieun’s remarks as well.

In the comments on the related content, the remark, “Tell your husband to love his neighbors first,” received significant agreement. Other critical comments included, “Song Jieun is this kind herself,” “Why did she have to come forward now?” and “She should probably pass that message directly on to Park Wi.”

It has not been confirmed, however, whether the episode featuring Song Jieun was recorded after the controversy surrounding Park Wi began.

Last month, Park Wi came under fire after releasing CCTV footage showing him falling when the wheel of his wheelchair became caught on the foot of a social service worker as he was getting off a KTX train. Public criticism intensified after it became known that the incident had occurred while the worker was helping him and that the worker had apologized at the scene. Park Wi subsequently deleted the video and apologized.

The controversy has continued for more than three weeks as videos from his past have also been brought back into the spotlight one after another. Criticism intensified after a video resurfaced in which he appeared to make remarks that seemed to question whether a visually impaired YouTuber actually had a disability.
