I don't really want to say it harshly, but I'm genuinely curious. People who think a significant chunk of Korea's GDP comes from K-pop, did they even graduate high school? Back in the day, when Latin American or Southeast Asian fans said stuff like that, it was just funny, but apparently, we've got this misconception on our side too. It's a misunderstanding that didn't even need to exist in the first place.

Not long ago, on Chinese internet, there was some fun debate around phrases like "Korea's Golden Age" tied to Korea's stock market fluctuations. At the very least, it means they're interested in their neighbor's economic situation and have a rough impression of the big tech firms that move market caps.

Almost all of them are tech, internet, finance, autos, shipbuilding, pharma, energy, aviation, and so on. 

K-pop fans who lack study should steer clear of heavy topics like "the economy" that they can't handle."
