After plunging 78% from its 2021 peak,
it has now been dropped from the S&P 100
Issues with Nike as seen by experts:
1. Continuously releasing only existing successful works by changing its color
2. Fell behind while other brands aggressively targeted the running community (On, Hoka, New Balance)
3. Withdrew from wholesale markets to sell exclusively through company-owned stores.
(Runners tend to prefer trying on and selecting from various brands at large shoe retailers; by voluntarily withdrawing from these channels, the brand lost out on being chosen.)
4. It used to be a battle between Nike and Adidas
Athletes wearing Adidas sneakers and sportswear set new records in international competitions, while Nike is falling behind
original post: here
1. Nikes are freaking uncomfortable. I prefer New Balance
2. The designs suck too
3. Nike are kinda uncomfortable, Adidas are comfortable ã…‹ã…‹
4. I wear my Vomeros because they're comfortable, but I didn't realize Nike had fallen that far
5. The width is such that only people with narrow feet can wear them
6. Thick, uncomfortable, and tacky
7. I used to wear only Nike, but now I wear everything except Nike
8. The design is ugly and they hurt my feet, so I haven't worn them in a long time
9. I’ve long worn this specific line because I loved the design, which looks great on narrow feet, but lately, I can’t shake the strong feeling that the brand itself has become dated and fallen out of fashion
10. Good thing I sold all my stocks
