Both dogs were in the North Tower (which collapsed 1 hour and 42 minutes after the impact)

Roselle

The guide dog of Michael Hingson, who worked on the 78th floor.

It took an hour for Hingson and Roselle to make their way out; along the way, Roselle stopped to lick and calm a person who was suffering a seizure. Seeing Roselle helped panicked people regain their composure, and many, around 30 of them, followed the pair down.

Notably, they emerged just after the South Tower had collapsed (it fell 56 minutes after impact); dodging flying debris, Roselle successfully guided Hingson all the way to the Wall Street subway station.

By the time Hingson reached the subway station, the North Tower had also begun to collapse.

She was a dog who was usually terrified of thunder and lightning, so Hingson found it truly remarkable that she remained so calm in the face of a roar that was incomparably louder.

That is why the book released later was titled Thunder Dog.

Salty

Salty was the guide dog for Omar Rivera, a senior systems architect at the Port Authority who worked on the 71st floor.

The evacuation was slightly delayed because Rivera, believing he had no chance of survival, had unclipped Salty’s harness to let the dog escape.

Salty, who had started heading down the stairs alone, eventually turned back

(Likely, he had bolted when the leash came off, startled and agitated, but then paused, realized something was wrong, and returned.), allowing Rivera and his supervisor, Donna, to rely on Salty to make their way out of the building.

It was yet another case where a difference of just a few minutes meant the difference between life and death.

Roselle and Salty, who met each other. 

It is said that after their respective accidents, they lived for another 10 and 7 years before crossing the Rainbow Bridge. Such brave puppiesㅜㅜㅜ
