[Nate] JANG WONYOUNG, PAYS THE PRICE FOR BEING 'YOUNG AND RICH'... ANOTHER 'ATTITUDE CONTROVERSY' → HEATED DEBATE OVER "MALICIOUS EDITING"

Jang Wonyoung of the group IVE has once again found herself at the center of a controversy regarding her attitude, following a brief moment captured during a music show performance. However, some argue that such an interpretation of the original footage is excessive.

Jang Won-young appeared on the 950th episode of Mnet’s 'M Countdown', held at the CJ ENM Center in Sangam-dong, Seoul, on the 22nd. During the broadcast, IVE performed their new song "Looks Can Kill," while the rookie girl group A2O LITE took first place with their track "NEON."

Immediately after the winner was announced, A2O LITE member Rada bowed toward Jang Wonyoung, who was standing nearby. In response, Jang Wonyoung looked at Rada, gave a brief nod, and then clapped. A clip focusing on this specific moment began to circulate online, leading some netizens to take issue with Jang Wonyoung’s expression and the way she acknowledged the gesture. One netizen criticized her, commenting, "She’s being way too arrogant."

There were also significant counterarguments. The original footage clearly shows Jang Wonyoung looking toward Lada, moving her head, and then clapping. Based on this, many argued that it would be unfair to conclude that Jang Wonyoung had ignored a greeting.

The fan account for Lada that first shared the video also stepped in to de-escalate the situation. On the 23rd, the account stated, "There is absolutely no reason to spread hate over a simple interaction," adding, "Jang Wonyoung did nothing wrong. Neither of them deserves to be treated this way." The account further noted, "I will block any users who continue to criticize either side."

This is not the first time Jang Wonyoung has been embroiled in a controversy regarding her attitude. Last July, she faced heavy criticism after footage surfaced showing her with her arms linked with someone at an amusement park, as well as a clip from an airport immigration checkpoint that appeared to show her accepting her passport with only one hand. However, the latter incident was later dismissed as a misunderstanding, a situation taken out of context, after footage from a different angle revealed that she had actually accepted the passport with both hands. Similarly, a controversy from last January concerning her alleged tardiness was also put to rest when it was confirmed that she had, in fact, arrived at the event venue early and was waiting.

IVE is set to officially release their mini-album, "Looks Can Kill," on the 26th.

This is the best // It's warm // Ridiculous // I'm upset // I'm mad

I could let it slide once or twice, but how many times has this happened now? With this much controversy surrounding her, you’d think she’d at least try to put on a facade during public appearances. But it’s clear she doesn’t even have the slightest intention of doing that, right? Is it really just a case of malicious editing?

Ban these entertainers who engage in real estate speculation from appearing on broadcasts!! Between tax evasion and speculative schemes, the entertainment industry is a filthy place, and it’s having a negative influence on our youth

This person always stirs up controversy by failing to do the simplest, most basic things. That's what you call character, you can never truly hide your attitude

It's true that she seems to lack basic manners

The videos of her showing an expression of disgust are even more daebak
