Stephen Colbert, host of The Late Show, the top-rated late-night talk show in the U.S., hurled profanity at former US President Donald Trump, who expressed joy over news of the show's cancellation.

CBS announced last week that its flagship program, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, will be canceled in May of next year.

Colbert, who has hosted the show since 2015, is known for his outspoken criticism of the Trump administration. Following the sudden cancellation announcement, speculation emerged online that Trump may have had a hand in the decision.

Indeed, Trump openly welcomed both the show's cancellation and Colbert’s departure. On July 18 (local time), Trump posted on his social media platform, Truth Social, saying, “I’m really happy Colbert was fired. His talent is far lower than his ratings,” clearly showing his displeasure toward Colbert.
