Looks like they're preparing a SEA localized group
"SM Universe Korea and Singapore plan to host a survival program (reality show) in 2027 to form a five-member girl group. This program is open to girls of ASEAN descent or ASEAN roots currently residing in Korea."

1. I wonder what a "localized idol" would actually look like. These days, it seems the reaction to localized idols varies depending on whether or not they also promote in Korea
2. They don't have a single successful localized act, yet they're going at it again
3. I think the probability of success if SM enters SEA with a localized group will be high given the strong fanbase over there
4. Can they take care of their actual group..
5. They haven't even debuted H2H for a year yet and they're already doing a new girl group
6. Can't they just take care of H2H? Their reactions are good too
7. I don't care about localized groups
8. Aren't these just rumors? Wasn't there a rumor of them debuting a Japanese localized group last year too??
9. Since it's a local joint venture, SM faces minimal risk of loss even if it fails, so they'll likely keep doing it
If it succeeds, it's a huge win; if it doesn't, the losses are limited because SM doesn't handle local management, distribution, or promotion
10. Okay....
