[PC stories/KPOP takes] CORTIS IS KPOP SLOP

Honestly this is something I've felt from when they debuted and especially now with everything coming about their concerts and stuff.

I've always hated the way hybe, a multi-billion dollar corporation pushed this "authentic" "self-produced" label onto cortis, completely diluting the meaning of those words. Cortis, fundamentally can NEVER be what they're trying to be. They want to be underground artists, and you can kinda see it in how their concerts went. No outfit changes, playing a song multiple times over, etc. Like nobody cared when hollis performed jeans like 50 billion times, but when cortis does it, it just feels... different. It all feels performative, inauthentic, etc.

And one reason is also because of their fanbase. Other than the weird 50 year old kid lovers, their fanbase is all kpop stans lmao. And kpop stans are expecting, a kpop group, to put on a kpop style concert. especially one under hybe of all companies. I'm honestly just so tired of their fans yapping about how "different" cortis are, how "authentic" and "relatable" they feel... like I never got into them because why would I listen to cortis when I can just listen to the artists they rip off of?

 
Cortis feel like a group made for people who think rap is "too overstimulating" and want something watered down and "industry-washed" ifykwim. xoxo
